Training Your Humans: Lesson 10

Lesson 10: Plan Ahead

Every winter, the cold comes to these parts. Much to my dismay, the humans want to retreat indoors to the warmth! Are you kidding me? There is no better time to spend outdoors than winter. They ought to try wearing a fur coat all summer long. This is my time to feel the cool snow on my belly, to run and frolic and bury my toys in fluffy white powder!

How does a canine circumvent this challenge? Plan ahead my friends. Today's high was 13 degrees with a wind chill of 3 below zero. PERFECT! As expected, my Mom didn't feel like playing. My solution? Early Christmas gifts! I gave her new snow boots, Thinsulate gloves AND a funny winter hat. Life is always better in a funny hat.

No excuses lady! Bundle up and get your hiney out the door -- there are adventures to be had and your attendance is mandatory.

You know how this story ends. Once again, victory was mine. You too can have your way this season by following my example. Now get out there and make me proud!

My mom will take the hat if yours won't wear it fur woo!

We had lots of fun wind today - so it made the temperature feel like the upper teens - Mom did wear a hat but no gloves...yet!

My mom wouldn't deny THAT face of yours!

Hee, we are not letting Ruby and Kiva see this post! Doggies claim the snowy romps have been all too brief the past few days due to freezing temps and mom's horrible head cold. Luckily we're in for a bit of a warming this weekend so the snowy snoots will be back in business! :)

That second picture really captures Farley's sweet face perfectly!!
We have been having really cold weather for us in Texas, down to 20 at night. This is Sophie's weather. The only thing she would like better is a nice cold rain to go with it!!!
She would really be envious of Farley
so content in all that refreshing snow!!

Good plan. It does take forever for the humans to put on all their clothing at once to go outside. I think if they went out nekked like us it would toughen them up.

Good job, Farley, you gotta stay on 'em. We haven't convinced our Mom to go out again, and she won't today, the wind is awful. Have a great weekend.

You are a shrewd manipulator Farley. I am sure Dugan will employ your successful tactics in no time.

Great work Farley! Now...can ya help my mom..she tends to wear this really fuzzy jacket, says it's SUPER WARM...so, naturally, half way through our walks, I just want to snaggle and play with THAT jacket!!! Don't think mom likes it much! At least she's out and about with me, right!

Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,
Sierra Rose

I will take your lesson to heart. Particularly the note about the funny hat!

I agree - winter is my favorite time of year! Now if it would just SNOW here in the City we'd be all set. I have a great big park just WAITING!

Hope you get to spend LOTS of quality time rolling in the white stuff! - Abbey

:) He said hiney! :)

We went to the snow too, but I didn't get it on my face. I was too interested in the sticks!

Farley my man, you really crack me up! We haven't gotten any snow yet, but Ti is busy growing a really gnarley winter coat. It kind of looks like wool LOL
