Weekend Constructions

Ever since we moved in, we've had a back door to no where but a huge drop down. Dad and I have had non-stop projects for the past two years, and this summer we committed to building a small deck platform and stairs so we can start using the door. For this project we mixed cement and poured our footings, we did some drainage pipes to keep water away from the house and we non-canine critter proofed it. This weekend I began putting boards on the steps. Dad followed directions really well. He is a most excellent assistant in my home improvement projects.

Next weekend we will conclude with board on the top platform, and handrails. Nice job Dad! You are a quick study.

It's a good thing Dad is your assistant. What would a guy with four paws do without an assistant?

That's pretty impressive stuff, Farley. No one here in this house can do stuff like that. Would be great if someone could. Maybe we should get a construction doggy.

The quality of the assistant speaks volumes about the leader in a project!! You have done well, and I'm wondering if you would take on an apprentice? My husband could really use some of your special guidance! :-))

Great job Farley! If you're as good with electrical as you are with carpentry and plumbing, I'd like to book you for a week in September.

I'm sure he, err... umm... you couldn't have completed it without his help! We had the same thing when we were kids - our back door opened to a two foot drop!

Can we hire you, Farley? Because the boys' dad needs a bit of help! (I can say that because he doesn't read the blogs, hee hee.)

Oh Farley, your supervisory skills seem perfect! You should turn this into another "How to Train your Humans". Good job buddy! Gracie & Madison would give you 8 paws up!!!

Those doors to nowhere seem to be a fad. I think they make them on purpose to taunt new homeowners with a project that could certainly be daunting for most! Good luck!
