In Loving Memory of Farley
Friday, January 13, 2012 at 09:00PM
Thank you to everyone for sending us your love and support. Reading your messages, and knowing so many people truly understand the precious gift of a family dog -- makes coping with a great loss more bearable.
I'm not going to write a long good-bye, but rather leave you with some of our favorite pictures to make you smile...because Farley wouldn't want it any other way. Thank you for loving him with us.

We love you and we miss you with all of our hearts, sweet Far Far.

This is such a beautiful post. Farley was handsome throughout his whole life. It's easy to see how much he was loved and how much he loved in return.
Thank you so much for posting these photos. Sheila & I have talked about Farley a lot and we will miss him forever.

I am so sorry for your sudden loss. Farley was a wonderful golden and imspired so many others. There are no words adequate to express such grief. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

The first time, I found your blog, Farley was scared to go on a walk, because of a bully neighborhood dog, but his daddy was there to protect him! I fell in love with his sweet nature right then and the loving home he had.
We lost our Sophie on April 1,2011. The irony is that she died identically in the same manner as Farley. She had a heart condition that we said she milked to manipulate us, but we loved her for it! She too had a great day, started acting strange and laid down in an area of the house that I don't believe she had ever done anything, but walk through to the kitchen. I took her outside, thinking she would be more comfortable, got her some crushed ice that she normally loved and she ignored it. I called my husband out and she like Farley was unresponsive. She died with us petting her and telling her how much we loved her. I still cry when I think of her. She was and will always be my baby girl.
I tell you this, because, your sweet Farley always reminded me of Sophie. They looked so much alike and had similar personalities. When you wrote that Farley and your husband would stare into each others eyes with love, I remember thinking I had to get used to the way Sophie looked at us with unabashed love and adoration. I had never experienced that with another dog. Not all goldens are like that to that extent, we both were just so fortunate to have Farley and Sophie in our lives. Special, indeed.
Even though, I know you only through your blog, You have given all of us such a blessed and insightful glimpse into your life with a wonderful golden named Farley. He is gone much too soon and I only wish I could take away the pain and emptiness. Know that both of you are in my prayers to withstand this grieving of losing a very special golden.
Please, come back and post when you are up to it. We all care about how you are getting along.
Much love to both of you,
Sophie's Mom

We have been away from blogging and have just heard your very sad news. We are truly devastated to hear that Farley went to the bridge far too early. We know that our Callie girl has welcomed Farley with open paws and is showing Farley the ropes and best spots to sniff. Our Grandma is also there loving on Farley and sneaking everybody some cheese. We are sending you all our love and healing basset drool!

Thank you for sharing Farley with the world. He has brought joy to so many, and no doubt will continue to do so.
